Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare asked to intervene in crises rocking umbrella body for Persons with Disabilities

Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare has been called upon to wade into the misunderstanding among Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities in Rivers State.

The Public Relations Officer of the Caretaker Committee of Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, Rivers State Chapter, Comrade Collins Akpana who made the call, alleged that the Chairman of the Caretaker Committee, Mr. Roy Abije does not follow due process in running the affairs of the Organization.

Comrade Akpana said some of the members especially those with eye challenge were not part of any Decision taken at a supposed meeting.

But in a swift reaction, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the group, Mr. Roy Abije said he follows democratic process in running the organization.

Mr. Roy stated that he had called for the meeting to enable members come up with solutions to the challenges facing the group.
