Rivers State Govt announces Jan 1 2018 to renew all certificates of approval for private schools in the State.

Rivers state Commissioner for Education Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja says from January 1 2018, there will be new certificates of approval, renewal and upgrading with security codes on them for all private schools, as part of measures to stop fraudulent practices in the education sector in the state. 

Dr. Gogo-Jaja who made this known during the inauguration of Enforcement Committee for closure of unapproved Schools in the State, said State owned and Private Schools in the State are to vacate for the term not earlier than December 15, 2017.

He said schools are expected to resume on January 8, 2018. 

Dr. Gogo-Jaja also urged school owners to make payments of any kind into designated banks. 

The Commissioner for Education however urged the newly inaugurated Committee, to carry out their duties in line with the educational vision of the state government.
