Monkey pox hoax: NOA Delta State Boss talks on the impact in students
National Orientation
Agency and the Delta State Government have commenced sensitization of
students in public schools across the state on various issues ranging from
national core values, security tips to monkey pox disease .
At the flag off of the
progamme at Government Model Secondary School, Asaba, the Delta State Director
of the National Orientation Agency, Mr Ivan Okoro said the exercise was in line
with NOA mandate of enlightening Nigerians to keep them abreast of vital
issues.
Mr. Okoro observed that
the controversies generated by the spread of monkey pox virus had impacted
negatively on students turn out in schools; hence there was the need to let the
students know the precautionary measures against the disease.
A health expert Mrs.
Juliet Okwata who gave key tips on the causes and prevention of monkey pox
disease enlightened the students on the need to avoid contact with effected
monkeys and persons with symptoms of monkey pox virus.

Miss Comfort Ogheneduro noted with delight that the sensitization campaign had
eroded their fear about the monkey pox disease.
Principal of Government
Model Secondary School Asaba, Mrs. Franca Onuorah commended the National
Orientation Agency for flagging off the sensitization campaign in her school
and gave an assurance that the students would take what they had been told to
their various homes.
