How young girls are trafficked from Niger Delta to Lagos for Prostitution

The Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP, Julie Okah – Donli says a lot of young girls are being trafficked from some states in Niger Delta extraction to strip clubs in Lagos.

Julie Okah – Donli who made this known in an interview urged parents to be cautious of the persons they entrust the lives of their children in the name of House help and employment agents.

  

The NAPTIP Boss said that the Agency was working on creating a synergy with the traditional institutions to act as an avenue to sensitize rural dwellers on the consequences of trading the future of their children for financial gratification.

She assured that with proper information human trafficking would be reduced to the barest minimum.

Statistically, about one million persons are been trafficked in the country annually.
