Governor Wike vows to put up robust opposition, preserve democracy

Governor Nyesom Wike says his administration is committed to promoting a strong opposition that will enhance and preserve Nigeria’s democracy.

He gave the assurance in Lagos while receiving New Telegraph Man of the Year Award.

Represented by the deputy, Mrs. Ipalibo Banigo, Governor Wike maintained that Rivers State will take the lead for others to follow while also vowing to always promote credible opposition in the interest of the growth of Nigeria’s democracy.

The governor further stated that aside from promoting good governance, he will ensure the enthronement of the rule of law in the country.
