Elelenwo residents hail Rivers State Government over rehabiltation of link roads

Residents of Elelenwo axis of Old Refinery road that is under construction by the Rivers State Government have expressed delight at the possibilities that the finished road will bring to their community.

The residents, Samuel Sunday, Eunice Godwin and Ebuka Rochas told our correspondent that although business activities in the area have slowed down since commencement of the construction, they are happy with the quality of work on the road and are hopeful.

In his opinion, another resident, Mr. Williams Otto said he was impressed with the level of organization by the contractors handling the work.

A family leader in the area, Chief Ken Ejekwu stressed that the road when finished would attract new businesses and development to the community.

He urged other residents and business owners who have been displaced by the road construction to be patient with Government and the contractors.
The rehabilitation of Elelenwo/Akpajo road which was flagged off by Governor Nyesom Wike in 2016 will ease traffic on East-west road/Eleme/Oil mill junction after completion.
