Despite slim Federal Allocation, Gov Wike is making strides - Rivers PDP Scribe Nwanosike
Rivers state government
has been commended for repositioning the state in line with the New Rivers
Vision, even in the face of dwindling federal allocation to the state.
The Publicity Secretary
of the Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers state, Mr. Samuel Nwanosike who gave
the commendation while featuring as guest on a programme said that
within two years, the Governor Nyesom Wike’s administration had done much in
providing critical infra-structure in the state.
Mr. Nwanosike who noted
that insecurity was a global issue, emphasized that the state government had
invested enormously in acquiring security equipment to ensure that the state is
secured for economic activities to thrive.
While debunking
insinuations that the state government has not done much in creating
jobs and empowering the youths, Mr. Nwanosike explained that the various
on-going construction work in the state had provided jobs for many persons who
hitherto were unemployed.
Mr. Nwanosike however
called for the creation of more job opportunities to engage the teeming
population of the unemployed in the society.
Some callers on the
programme including Mr. Davidson and Mr. Festus, drew the attention of the state
government to some issues requiring immediate intervention.
Mr. Nwanosike also said
that local government election cannot be conducted in the state until the issue
before the Supreme Court is dealt with.
