ASUP STRIKE: Polytechnic students asks FG to hurriedly intervene.
The indefinite strike
embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has generated
reaction among lecturers and students of Port-Harcourt Polytechnic.
Speaking to newsmen, an ASUP Public Relation Officer, PRO, in Port-Harcourt
Polytechnic Mr. Okechukwu Amadi lamented the unseriousness of Federal Government
towards the union warning that if their requirements are not met the strike may
not be called off.
Mr. Okechukwu however urged
the Federal Government to invite ASUP for a round table discussion and find ways
to resolve the matter amicably.
Two students in the
institution Mr. Samuel Kemasirichi Uche and Nora Johnson also said that the
strike will affect the students negatively if it is not resolved soon.
The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic,
ASUP began an indefinite strike
on Monday 13th November 2017 due to failure of the Federal Government
to meet the demands of the Union.
