World Cities day: Rivers State Govt to embark on Tree Planting

Rivers State Commissioner for Environment, Professor Roseline Konya has enjoined residents of the state to join in making Port Harcourt a better city.

Commenting on the World Cities Day observance, Professor Konya said the state government had embarked on various projects including the pleasure park and planting of trees to return Port Harcourt to its Garden City status.

The Rivers State Commissioner for Environment who spoke with newsmen said the tree planting project includes the local government councils.

Professor Konya called on residents of the State to be part of the tree planting project.
