Security decries poor remuneration, under equipping of Police force in Nigeria
Timely
remuneration, adequate and sufficient provision of equipment have been
identified as some of the factors to enable the Nigeria Police perform
optimally in the fight against criminality in the Country.
A security
expert, Retired Colonel Chinedu Owhondah , who made this assertion in an
interview with Treasure FM decried the lack of logistics and poor welfare
condition under which Police officers work.
Colonel Owhondah
said poor welfare had led some officers into engaging into unwholesome acts
thereby breaching public trust and confidence.
He called for
re-orientation of those in the force to shape their minds and motivate them
towards the challenging tasks ahead of them.
Colonel Owhondah
added that it was important for the Security agencies to work in synergy with
the public to successfully eliminate crimes in the society.
