PDP calls for impeachment of President Buhari

The major opposition party in the country, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP has described as unacceptable the sack of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the Director General of the Nigerian Intelligence Agency NIA, Mr. Babachir Lawal and Mr. Ayo Oke by President Muhammadu Buhari.

In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, the PDP condemned the manner the allegations against the two government officials were handled by the President Buhari- led government.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress APC has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the appointment of Mr. Boss Mustapha as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation, saying the appointee being an experienced politician would serve as the missing link between the president, the party and other arms of government.

In the mean time, the  presidency says the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC, will go ahead to investigate the sacked officials.
