Rumuokoro Traders to Rivers State Govt - Its high time you opened the market

Some Traders at the Rumuokoro/Slaughter Market in Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have appealed to the State Government to open the new Rumuokoro Market to avoid incessant harassments at their present location.

 

The traders who spoke with THE EMERALD HUB including Mrs. Chioma Azu and Mrs. Favour Orji lamented they were being chased about by the Police and other enforcement teams while the new market was not opened yet.

While appealing to be allowed to sell behind culverts of the road till the new Rumuokoro Market is ready for use, the traders alleged that they pay daily levies to the Police.

The traders decried destruction of their wares on a daily basis and said they were ready to pay for space at the new Rumuokoro Market if

it is opened.

Our Correspondent who visited the market reports that the new Rumuomokoro Market which was inaugurated in July this year is still under lock and key.
