Stakeholders in Non governmental organisations, NGO and Civil society organizations, CSO; in Cross River state want the House of Representatives to reconsider its stand on the CSO/NGO regulatory bill now before it.
In a communiqué after an interactive forum to deliberate on the proposed bill in Calabar, the stakeholders said the existing regulatory bodies of the federal government should form minatory team to check the activities of NGOS rather than forming a commission to do so.
The communiqué signed by EDEMA IROM,LILIAN OYAMA and AGIM IKWEN from different NGOS;  said the bill if passed would not promote  national unity .
The communiqué also noted that most successes recorded in humanitarian services in the country, was due to the NGOS and foreign partners.
According to the communiqué, strengthening the existing laws is what the country needs rather than a new law
