MONKEY POX SCARE: Port Harcourt Residents share thoughts
While some parents panicked at the
rumour of monkey virus vaccine forcefully given to children in schools in the
State, others had different views on the development.
Mr. King Obuge and Evangelist Oha Clement expressed displeasure at parents and teachers who were swept by the wave of the rumour.
Another resident of
Port Harcourt urged the government to properly educate the citizenry on the
monkey pox virus to avoid negative reactions to wrong information.
The parent, Reverend Dumo George who spoke to
our correspondents in reaction to the panic that led to the withdrawal of
children from schools on Monday, said there must be enlightenment campaign
before any form of treatment or immunization is carried out.
Reverend George said
government must be on its toes to ensure that people are not misinformed.
