MONKEY POX SCARE: No one is injecting pupils at schools in Rivers state - RSG says

Rivers State Government has dismissed rumors making the rounds in the State that the Nigerian Army was inoculating pupils and students.

School activities in Rivers state were this morning disrupted as parents thronged school premises to pick their wards for fear of alleged monkey pox injection by the Nigerian Army.

State Commissioner for Education Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo-Jaja who made this known to newsmen while monitoring schools in the state said there was no element of truth in the matter

Dr. Gogo-Jaja said if there would be any vaccination by the government or military the public would be duly notified.

He urged principals and head teachers to report to the appropriate authorities if anybody under the guise comes into the school premises.

The Commissioner for Education appealed to parents and guardians not to panic maintaining that the ministry was on the matter.
