Hostilities of Security agents, cause of spike in crime rate - PCRC
Hostility on the part of security agencies has been identified
as one of the reasons for the increased rate of crime in the society.
This was the view of Stakeholders at the launching of the Safer
School Initiative Programme for Secondary schools in Port Harcourt by
the Police Community Relations Committee, PCRC.
One of the Stakeholders, Mr. Tamuno koko explained that Security
personnel should do an in-depth background of areas they are deployed to and
reach a common ground with members of the Community in order to achieve results
in crime fighting.
On his part, the Rivers State Chairman of PCRC, Mr Casca Ogosu
said corporate bodies should gainfully engage the youths to make the State an
investment hub.
Highlight of the event was the induction of some eminent
Nigerians as Patrons of PCRC.
