Award to SARS Commander Rivers state not APC sponsored - Niger Delta Forum of Ministers and Bishops

Niger Delta Forum of Ministers and Bishops has refuted claims by the PDP secretary in Rivers State Mr Samuel Nwanosike that the award bestowed on the Commander of the Anti Robbery Squad SARS Mr Akin Fakorede was politically motivated.

President of the forum Julius Ebiwe who made this known to newsmen in Port Harcourt, said the accusation is an ill attempt by the PDP to drag the Forum into Rivers State politics.

"The PDP should not drag this body into Politics, If the PDP has any problem with SARS, they should go and solve it with them (SARS), We went there because of peace so that peace will reign. We gave the award to the Commander, but not only him, we gave to the CP as well to encourage the security in Nigeria, in Rivers State and Niger Delta"

 Julius said.

Also, Vice President of the Forum David Omokwali said the Bishops have also visited the SARS commander to inform of the numerous complaints about his men in the State.
